Seatbelt reminder

Good afternoon, 

Your Neighbourhood Policing Team have been out in the communities of Blackburn over the last few days we have noticed a SIGNIFICANT amount of drivers who are allowing their children to be passengers of a vehicle without wearing a seatbelt. 

Now most of us will believe that this is common sense. However, we are shocked to inform you that in 2 in every 5 cars we spoke to some, or all of the children were NOT WEARING their seatbelts. 

We cannot stress enough that if you are the driver of the vehicle and you have a passenger who are under the age of 16 years old, YOU as the driver are responsible for all passengers. Adults, you are in charge of your own seatbelt too. 

Not wearing a seatbelt is 1 of the fatal 5 for road traffic collisions on our roads in Lancashire.
